Secret Rendezvous is the band from singer Sietske “Musiex” Morsch and producer/guitarist Remi “Sausbei” Lauw.

The two have an eclectic taste in music ranging from Funkadelic to Kraftwerk, from Curtis Mayfield to Led Zeppelin and from Prince to Flying Lotus.

In 2009 Remi and Sietske start experimenting with psychedelic sounds and electronics in which creativity is the essential element.
For 2 years the two lock themselves up in secret in their studio to begin working on the debut album ‘Paint The Town Red

Paint The Town Red

With the debut ‘Paint The Town Red’ the Amsterdam based group presents a quirky blend of styles in which Psychedelic, Electro and Soul are the core of the music.
‘Paint The Town Red’ sounds bold and innovative. It breaths an experimental atmosphere with artistic adventure.

The lyrics are mostly autobiographical. In large they cover love but also themes as insecurity, hope and making choices.
The title track winks at the actual music industry in which the artistic part and creativity sometimes are nowhere to be found.

The album was mixed by Budy Mokoginta (iET). The mastering was handled by Los Angeles based Dave Collins (Soundgarden, Nikka Costa).  

‘Paint The Town Red’ is released March 22, 2011 on Secret Rendezvous’ own label ‘Sonic Galore Records’.

The first single from the album is ‘Just One More Thing’ and receives airplay on dutch radio 6, MTV Brand New and 22tracks.

The second single from the album is ‘Secret Rendezvous’ and receives worldwide airplayon 3fm (NL) Radio 538 (NL)  

Bang Radio (UK) and Neo Soul Cafe (US)

The third single is called ‘Paint The Town Red’ and is featured on 365AAY Radio (Canada) and Groove loves melody (US) 

On July 25, 2012 Paint The Town Red is released in Japan by Tokyo based label Sweet Soul Records.

In the fall of 2012 Secret Rendezvous will be releasing a special edition album with remixes from Paint The Town Red and new material.
